Health Awareness Session for Truckers and Transport Workers – Transport Nagar, Nigdi, Pune | 29 Aug 2025







The Health Awareness Session for Truckers and Transport Workers was successfully organized on 29 August 2025 at Bridgestone Saarthi Centre, Jijau Clinic, Transport Nagar, Nigdi, Taluka Haveli, District Pune. The awareness program was conducted in collaboration with Bridgestone Saarthi Centre, Jijau Clinic, Nirman, and Healing Hands Foundation Pune with the objective of spreading awareness regarding anorectal and related health disorders among truck drivers and transport workers. The session primarily focused on diseases and symptoms related to hemorrhoids (piles), fistulas, fissures, hernia, constipation, and other associated disorders, emphasizing the importance of early diagnosis, preventive healthcare, healthy lifestyle habits, and proper medical guidance. A total of 32 participants attended the awareness session and actively participated in the program.
The event was attended by representatives from the Bridgestone CSR team, including Nirman and Saiful Haque, along with Mr. Ashok Dadas from Jijau Clinic. Representatives from Healing Hands Foundation Pune, including Mrs. Madhura Bhate (NGO Coordinator), Mukund Dudhale (Consultant), Mrs. Anita Said (Camp Coordinator), and Tejashree Khalate (Counselor), were also present during the session. During the program, Ashok Dadas from Jijau Clinic and representatives from Nirman delivered a welcome address and introduced the participants to the activities and healthcare initiatives undertaken by Healing Hands Foundation Pune and the role of Bridgestone CSR in supporting the awareness initiative.
During the interactive awareness session, Tejashree Khalate (Counselor) provided detailed information regarding anorectal disorders such as piles, fissures, fistula, and constipation. She discussed common misconceptions related to these conditions and explained the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, balanced diet, proper nutrition, and preventive healthcare practices. The session encouraged active participation from the attendees, and all their questions and concerns were addressed in detail, making the program highly informative and beneficial for the participants.
The awareness session was successfully conducted under the guidance of Dr. Snehal Porwal (Secretary), Dr. Ashwin Porwal (President), Mrs. Madhura Bhate (NGO Coordinator), and Dr. Nilesh Ahirrao (Program Manager) of Healing Hands Foundation Pune. Their leadership and continuous support ensured the smooth execution of the event, which played an important role in promoting healthcare awareness and preventive health education among truckers and transport workers, reflecting a strong commitment towards community health and social welfare initiatives.
