In a proud moment for the Indian medical fraternity, Dr. Ashwin Porwal has been conferred with an Honorary Membership of the Russian Society of Colorectal Surgery, making him one of only three surgeons in India to receive this prestigious international recognition. Dr. Porwal was highly appreciated for his revolutionary contributions toward the treatment of Complex Anal Fistula. During the conference, he presented his pioneering work on DLPL, a breakthrough laser-assisted surgical technique he personally devised for the effective correction of this challenging medical condition.
In a notable fusion of the healthcare and cinematic worlds, Dr. Ashwin Porwal was honored with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Foundation Award for ‘Excellence in Healthcare’ during the 2015 ceremony. This milestone highlights his outstanding contributions to the medical field and his dedication to providing exceptional patient care. The recognition celebrates his professional excellence alongside various dignitaries and industry leaders, solidifying his position as a trusted and leading figure in healthcare. Dr. Ashwin Porwal achieved a monumental medical milestone by setting an official Indian Record in the Limca Book of Records for the “Longest fistula removed.” This historic, record-breaking surgery was performed on May 10, 2019, at Healing Hands Clinic in Pune, Maharashtra, where Dr. Porwal successfully removed a 110 cm (43.30 in.) long fistula. Executed with precision between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., the complex procedure utilized the innovative Distal Laser Proximal Ligation (DLPL) technique. Officially certified by Vatsala Kaul Banerjee, Editor of the Limca Book of Records, this extraordinary achievement underscores the clinic’s pioneering expertise in proctology and its enduring commitment to executing world-class, advanced surgical solutions for complex medical cases.
This elegant, rectangular wooden appreciation plaque featured in serves as a formal token of gratitude and professional recognition. Dr. Ashwin Porwal was officially recognised for his valuable contribution to IDCON 2016, the 5th Annual Pune District Conference, themed “Together Arriving At Consensus.” The conference was jointly organised by IMA Shivneri and IMA Shirur and held on 27th and 28th August 2016 in Manchar. Dr. Ashwin Porwal was appreciated for his valuable contributions at NIMACON W PUNE 2019, a one-day conference themed “Anti Aging: Holistic Approach,” jointly organised by the National Integrated Medical Association and Noble Hospitals, Pune. The conference was held on 23rd June 2019 at the Suzlon Auditorium, Pune. Dr. Paresh Gandhi was honoured for his valuable contribution as a Speaker at a CME programme organised by the Kothrud Doctors Association (KDA), focusing on the “Role of Stapler Surgery in Constipation & Installation Ceremony.” The event was held on Wednesday, 27th June 2018. In a continuing celebration of exceptional community medical service, Dr. Ashwin Porwal was presented with the Rotary Sinsan Health Care Excellence Award during the Rotary FEST ’19 event. This joint recognition was collaboratively issued by Rotary International District (RID) 3121, the Rotary Club (RC) of Tilak Road, and Sinsan Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. Dr. Ashwin Porwal was conferred the prestigious Award of Honour at PSSCON 2019, a Colorectal Workshop & Symposium held from 20th November to 1st December 2019 at the Hyatt Hotel, Pune. This recognition celebrates his outstanding contributions to the field of colorectal surgery and his dedicated participation in advancing medical knowledge and practice. The award was officially presented by the Pune Surgical Society in association with Sterling Hospitals, under the leadership of the organising committee, comprising Dr. Milind Joshi (President, Pune Surgical Society), Dr. Arun Fernandes (Organising Chairman), Dr. Ramesh Dumbre (Organising Secretary), Dr. Sachin Devadhar (Organising Joint Secretary), and Dr. Sanjay Borude (Organising Treasurer, Pune Surgical Society).

Under the leadership and presidency of Dr. (Mcs.) Government Health Programme: Maha Arogya Shibir (January 2024)
Healing Hands Foundation was honoured to participate in the Maha Arogya Shibir, a three-day health camp organised by the Maharashtra Government’s Health Department, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, and partner organisations from 5–7 January 2024 at PWD Maidan, Navi Sangvi, Pimpri-Chinchwad.
Through two dedicated stalls, HHF conducted free anorectal health screenings for 502 beneficiaries, along with counselling, dietary guidance, and distribution of free medicines.
The HHF stall was visited by Dr. Radhakrishna Pawar, Joint Director, Health Department, Pune, along with senior government doctors from District Hospital, Civil Hospital Pune, and Zilla Parishad, who appreciated the Foundation’s contribution to community health. As a recognition of its participation and service, HHF was presented with a memento by the organisers.
The Junnar Taluka Medical Practitioners’ Association (J.T.M.P.A.) celebrated a significant milestone with its 29th Annual Conference, CONFEST – 2016, held on Saturday, 9th April 2016 in Otur.
